Walk our country lane and pick blackberries. Explore the land and marvel at the diverse plant and bird life (over forty different kinds of birds have been identified on the property). Walk our private trail through magnificent westcoast rainforest to visit the horses in the back field, admire the dragonflies at the big pond or simply have tea in the garden and watch the boats sail by.

 

Oceanview paradise for gardeners, birders, & seekers of solitude only 6 Km from Ganges. Enjoy our proximity to ocean access, kayaking, St. Mary Lake, 18 hole golf course, tennis, horseback riding, art galleries and registered massage therapist. For some top-notch performing or visual arts, be sure to visit ArtSpring, the islands arts centre.

Suncrest is an ideal place for a retreat or for family celebrations as we can accommodate up to 8 people in our two spacious suites.

 

location:  Scheduled BC Ferries service brings you to Salt Spring Island to one of three terminals located on the island: Long Harbour, Fulford Harbour, or Vesuvius Bay. Travelling light? You can take a scenic ride on float planes that whisk you from downtown Vancouver or Vancouver Airport to the Ganges float plane dock, in the heart of the village.

 

Directions to Suncrest:
You will arrive either by float plane in Ganges or by ferry at one of three terminals:

From Ganges: Drive north through the village, turn right on Upper Ganges Rd. Stay right as it becomes Robinson and then Walker Hook Rd. Turn left on Fort St (steep paved road) and drive to the top. Turn right on Head St. and drive to the end of the road to 14O Head St--Suncrest

From Long Harbour: Go to first stop sign, turn right , stay to the right (Robinson Road becomes Walker's Hook Rd.). Turn left on Fort St (steep paved road) and drive to the top. Turn right on Head St. and drive to the end of the road to 14O Head St--Suncrest

From Fulford Harbour: Drive the main road to Ganges. Shortly after you drive through the village turn right on Upper Ganges Rd. Stay right as it becomes Robinson and then Walker Hook. Turn left on Fort St (steep paved road) and drive to the top. Turn right on Head St. and drive to the end of the road to 14O Head St--Suncrest

From Vesuvius Bay: Drive Vesuvious Bay Road to the four way intersection. Go across the road and you are on Upper Ganges Rd.,drive to the stop sign and turn left on Robinson Rd. Stay to the right as Robinson becomes Walker Hook. Turn left on Fort St. (steep paved road) and drive to the top. Turn right on Head St. and drive to the end of the road to 14O Head St--Suncrest

The cottage has private entrance, a living-dining room with TV/ VCR/ DVD and CD stereo , kitchen, bedroom with queen sized bed, and full bathroom, and is wheelchair accessible.

 

 

In the fully equipped kitchen you will find all you need should you want to have breakfast in your cozy cottage, or you may wish to partake of our B&B breakfast which includes produce from our organic garden and orchard. We will try to meet your dietary preferences.

Self contained non smoking accommodations with private entrance, queen bed, sofa bed, living-dining room, fully equipped kitchen and bath, wheel chair accessible.

You will find breakfast makings in the kitchen, or you may arrange to have us provide breakfast.

Watch the yellow finches, humming birds and swallowtail butterflies... while relaxing on this comfy garden bench. Suncrest is a magnificent wild life sanctuary!

 

Bed and Breakfast, the bedroom suite—appointed with classic original art deco furnishings—has an adjacent sitting room-library, deck and bathroom. You will appreciate the comfort of the luxury queen size bed. The sitting room has a sofa bed, a bar fridge, and a beverage area (coffee and tea supplies and equipment). It occupies the complete second floor and has a magnificent ocean view. Eagles and hawks often fly at eye level.

The well appointed upstairs suite is elegant, comfortable and has memorable views from every window. Fresh cut flowers from our garden decorate your room. At dusk the quiet and the colours are magical at Suncrest. All you see is nature in its glory. Sit by your window or on the balcony and watch the sky change to magnificent colours as the sunset paints the North Shore mountains pink. Watch the moon rise over Galiano and follow the river of light as it crosses Trincomali Channel and visits your room. Comfortable quality new bed with down covers and pillows will ensure you have a relaxed sleep and awake to a sunrise you'll never forget.

 

 

We like flexibility and will try to personalize your breakfast time and menu. Relax and enjoy being served in our ocean view dining room or on one of three other tables out on the decks and patio: the intimate table for two with ocean view, the large table amongst hibiscus and passion plants with view of the garden and the bird bath and feeder, or sit in the cool shade of our grape covered patio.

Typical breakfast: Coffee or tea and juice Fresh seasonal organic fruit from our garden such as berries, peaches, figs, pears and plums (we buy fruit we can't grow locally). The main course is usually a cooked egg dish such as frittata, omelette, quiche, scrambled... these may include meat or fish and vegetables and herbs from Suncrest's garden. or Baked goodies, pancakes, french toast with our homemade jams, cream or yogurt.
